Valley Communications Inc., doing business as Valley FiberCom, has announced that the official ceremonial Ground Breaking Ceremony for the local Volga business office will take place at 1:30pm on Friday, August 31, 2018, at 209 Kasan Ave in Volga. The Ceremony will feature a short program, followed by a reception at the Volga City Auditorium, directly across the street at 212 Kasan Ave. The entire Volga community is welcome to attend.

Valley FiberCom plans to bring ultra-high-speed Internet access, as well as digital television and telephone service to homes and businesses in Volga. Initial construction on the state-of-the-art customer service center and new central office began recently.  Clark Drew Construction of Brookings is the general contractor for the building project designed by Co-Op Architecture of Aberdeen and Sioux Falls, SD.

“Valley FiberCom’s plans for a new fiber optic network will be a reliable, state-of-the-art infrastructure that will provide more value to the residents and businesses in Volga,” said Jeff Symens, Valley FiberCom’s GM/CEO. Valley FiberCom plans to employ two central office technicians as well as customer support staff in the Volga office.  “Customers can expect local customer service in addition to timely service calls,” said Symens, Valley FiberCom’s GM/CEO.

“If all goes according to plan, Valley FiberCom’s building will be completed in January of 2019 and we hope to begin fiber plant construction in the first or second quarter of 2019, weather permitting,” said Symens.
